Le Mahabharata

Bar of the Festival

It’s a place for celebration and socialising, where festival-goers, industry professionals, production teams and artists gather before or after the shows. Every evening, there are artistic events on offer: performances, concerts, surprises…

Presentation

The Mahabharata is the Festival d'Avignon bar. It takes its name from the iconic production that Peter Brook, invited in 1985 by Alain Crombecque, created for the opening of the Carrière de Boulbon. Historically frequented by artists and partners of the Festival d'Avignon, the bar is open to everyone until 11 pm. Everyone is welcome to come along for a drink, a bite to eat, and a party!

A TASTE OF KOREA

Korean street food comes to the Festival d'Avignon

Throughout the Festival, the Mahabharata's snack area is transformed, offering a selection of Korean specialities inspired by the Pojangmacha, Seoul's famous street stalls: fried chicken (치킨), mandu (만두), japchae (잡채), Korean corn dogs (핫도그), hotteok (호떡) and ice cream.

PERMANENCES ADDICTION FRANCE

As part of its CSR commitment, the Festival d'Avignon is hosting the charity Addiction France at the Festival bar to run awareness-raising activities and promote responsible drinking.

10, 13, 24 july from 10pm to 1:45am

The Korean Cultural Centre is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. Located in Paris, its mission is to promote the richness and diversity of Korean culture and to strengthen cultural exchanges between Korea and France. Through a multidisciplinary programme (exhibitions, films, concerts, conferences, performances, workshops, etc.), the Centre showcases both traditional Korean heritage and contemporary creativity. The Centre also develops outreach programmes, in collaboration with numerous cultural venues and local associations, to make Korean culture accessible to audiences throughout France. Furthermore, it supports Korean artists in promoting their work in France and facilitates encounters between professionals, cultural institutions and the French public. As a place for exchange and discovery, the Korean Cultural Centre thus contributes to cultural dialogue between the two countries and to a better understanding of Korean culture in all its forms.
