To make travelling by bus and train easier, the Southern Region is putting in place an exceptional scheme. Numerous lines will be available to get to Avignon during the day from a number of towns in the Vaucluse and the surrounding area. In the evening, trains will run until 11.30pm, making it easier to get home and stay in the surrounding area.

The T1 tram line and bus lines C2, C3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 16, P1, and P2 run every day during the Festival until approximately 1:00 a.m. Please note that on some lines, partial terminus stops are in effect in the evening. The Allobus service will be extended until 1:30 a.m. starting July 4.

Security

In accordance with the Vigipirate Plan, you will be asked to show the contents of your bags at the entrance to the venues. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the performance.

The following items are prohibited at the entrances to the Festival d'Avignon venues:

  • large bags,

  • travel rucksacks, suitcases,

  • helmets,

  • firearms, bladed weapons (even imitation ones),

  • any sharp objects: knives, scissors, etc.,

  • any glass or plastic bottles, any opaque containers: flasks, cans. Only transparent water bottles and 1 litre water flasks max and whose contents can be checked are permitted. You will be asked to take a sip.

  • any aerosols and pressurised containers,

  • toxic or chemical substances,

  • flammable liquids,

  • fireworks and related items (firecrackers, Bengal lights, signal flares, etc.)

There is no cloakroom available.
