For the first time in the Cour d’honneur of the palais des Papes, Mayra Andrade invites us to (re)discover some of her most beautiful songs and compositions, drawn from her entire discography, from Navega (2006) to Manga (2019).
Devoid of elaborate arrangements, she will be accompanied solely by the acoustic guitar of Cape Verdean musician Djodje Almeida. With reEncanto, she marks a return to her roots. Having begun her career in Cape Verde at just fifteen, singing and composing to the guitar, she delivers her songs in Cape Verdean Creole, French, Portuguese, and English: languages that reflect the many influences she proudly embraces, and which make her a true citizen of the world.
