Presentation

Using documentary archives as raw material for her theatre, Émilie Rousset examines the judicial system as a space for the transformation of speech. Based on encounters with female lawyers and litigants across Europe, Affaires Familiales revisits intimate stories that intersect with the law. Reenacted by seven European actors, the voices and bodies of these stories are bought to the stage – with every case prompting questions of our entire society. A lawyer who specialises in child abduction, an expert in LGBT family law, an Italian father of a child born through surrogacy, a police officer from the Mossos d’Esquadra, silenced testimonies of incest, victories before the European Court of Human Rights... These cases reveal a justice system challenged by the tensions and transformations of our societies.

من خلال لقاء مع محامين ومتقاضين في جميع أنحاء أوروبا، يعرض Affaires Familiales قصصاً حميمية تتقاطع مع القانون، ويستكشف العدالة كمساحة لتحويل الخطاب.
