Located on the other side of the Rhône, the Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon is a 14th-century listed monument, a former convent of the Order if the Chartreux. Today it is a museum but also a place for artistic research and residencies, as it is home to the Centre National des Écritures du Spectacle (CNES). This organization has three areas that it makes available to the Festival during the summer: the Tinel (250-seat theatre), and the cemetery cloister.
