Presentation

How does one dance to the iconic songs of Jacques Brel, whose music transcends generations? Taking up this challenge are Solal Mariotte, a promising French dancer and choreographer, and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, the renowned Belgian Flemish choreographer. Following EXIT ABOVE, presented at the Festival d’Avignon in 2023, the Flemish-Belgian choreographer shares the stage for the first time with the young French dancer, also coming from the breakdance, to embody these songs that were never meant to be danced. Together, the two artists explore the powerful poetry, expressiveness, and mannerisms of the Belgian singer through this performance set in the majestic space of the Carrière Boulbon.
