In Sokcho, a small seaside town in South Korea, 23-year-old Soo-Ha leads a routine life, divided between visiting her mother, a fishmonger, and her relationship with her boyfriend, Jun-oh. The arrival of a Frenchman, Yan Kerrand, at the small guesthouse where Soo-Ha works, stirs up questions within her about her own identity and her French father, about whom she knows almost nothing. As winter numbs the town, Soo-Ha and Yan Kerrand observe and size each other up, attempting to communicate in their own ways and forging a fragile bond.
