Presentation

Carolina Bianchi returns to the Festival d'Avignon to present her entire trilogy as a one-day theatre marathon. With her collective Cara de Cavalo, she explores the relationships that unfold between each of these plays and tackles the challenge of revisiting this material. Whether she’s putting her body on the line to talk about sexual violence, burning her own artistic pantheon, or opening the doors to her own creative workshop with its noise and fury, her performances share a commitment to precision that protects her from any fixed system. She remains an artist haunted by doubt, which she never hesitates to stage within her shows. In doing so, she reactivates one of the most ancient functions of theatre: to venture beyond regions basking in the light of the sun and enter the land of shadows and uncertainty, the realm of questions that await answers, now and for a long time to come.
