THE BROTHERHOOD – CAPÍTULO II DA TRILOGIA CADELA FORÇA, Carolina Bianchi & Cara de Cavalo @ Mayra Azzi

Presentation

In the second part of her trilogy, Carolina Bianchi explores - under the name "brotherhood" - the ambiguities of male solidarity, its origins, and its codes. How do these insular circles infused with violence perpetuate sexual violence and rape culture? Focusing her investigation on art history and contemporary theatrical creation, Bianchi refuses to simply the subject, recognising the paradoxical admiration these male power dynamics can arouse in us. She addresses the constant confusion between aversion and fascination, using the means of the theatre to sketch out possible avenues of discussion. The Brotherhood forges close links between representation and real trauma, between power structures in art and radical poetry, between the roots of gender-based violence and its impact on sexualities.
