Since 2013, Ça va, ça va le monde! has served as a sounding board and a laboratory where writers and audience members share—often for the first time—the experience of speaking. Whether through staged readings or musical performances, language flows, brought to life by the performers. An encounter with literature from the Global South. This series of readings on RFI offers listeners the chance to discover authors from the French-speaking world whose works tell different stories. The present and current events are often at the heart of these plays, which are marked by the need to give voice to the wounds of their history: war, colonialism, corruption, and patriarchy.
Two young people are confined in a rest centre to “regain their senses.” But what He and She say about madness is far from what we imagine. We may even leave this visit as disappointed as a theatre spectator who pays to see a dancing monkey and unexpectedly encounters a man committing suicide.
Mamadou Sellou Diallo is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Arts and Culture Professions at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal. He coordinates the Master’s programme in Cinema and Creative Audiovisual Production (CIRAC). A playwright and director, he leads ARPASE (Atelier de Recherche et de Pratiques des Arts de la Scène et de l’Écran), which produces experimental theatre forms (life stories, theatrical storytelling, documentary theatre…).
