The Festival d’Avignon is launching an open call for CASSANDRA. Liberty, Equality, Violence, Marta Górnicka’s next creation.

Since 2009, the Polish director and writer has been bringing new life to the chorus of ancient theatre. In her productions, people of different ages, languages and backgrounds speak out together. After MOTHERS, presented at the 2024 Festival d'Avignon in the Cour d’honneur du Palais des Papes, she continues with the second part of a triptych devoted to Cassandra, the prophetess of Greek mythology condemned never to be believed.

For this production, Marta Górnicka is searching for the Cassandras of today: voices that are rarely heard and often dismissed. She will bring together a multilingual, intergenerational chorus of twenty performers from different countries and a range of social backgrounds.
