Raoul Collectif

Bruxelles / Created in 2020

The Raoul collectif explores the question of the group and the individual: what can we celebrate today in a world without rituals, forever in a state of urgency ?

Presentation

Don Quixote, griots, jazz lovers, and a ceremony we don't know how to get to nor what it is supposed to celebrate... For their third show, the Raoul collectif are once again invading the stage to explore the joyful strength of a group fighting against the dangers of capitalism and everything that could smother their lust for life. As has become their habit, the five actor-directors have written this show as a collective through an accumulation of attempts and trials on stage to reach, in a roundabout way, a perfect consensus. In a naked dramaturgy, they dissect an age that ties people together as much as it hampers them. A musical show of theatre in movement, their “ceremony” invites the audience to experience an expiatory moment, off the beaten track, to ask this question: what alternative can we imagine for the world when everything seems to have already been decided? A show that will make you feel like a Don Quixote in action...
