Camden Town, 1969. Withnail and Marwood, two unemployed actors, share a dilapidated hovel in London where utter chaos reigns. Struggling to make ends meet and hounded by their landlord, to whom they owe several months’ rent, they drown their idleness in alcohol and illegal substances whilst waiting for the role that will finally change their lives. Hoping to make a fresh start, Marwood eventually convinces Withnail to arrange a stay in the countryside at the cottage of his wealthy uncle Monty...
