Nocturnes dives into the world of evening horseraces at the Vincennes racecourse near Paris to follow a group of young gamblers who, every night, turn this slowly forgotten place into their very own kingdom. I found myself immersed in a world of echoes and screens filming, for months on end, their calculations, their bodies and their cries to capture their energy.

Paris. From the Charlie Hebdo attacks to the presidential elections, a journey into the night with young people who don’t sleep: their dreams, nightmares, drunkenness, gentleness, boredom, tears, parties, jobs, terraces, shop windows, cobblestones, parents, desire, the future, amnesia, 2015, 2016, 2017: our time.

Followed by a discussion with Matthieu Bareyre and Marion Siéfert moderated by Hugues Le Tanneur
