Presentation

Christophe Raynaud de Lage has spent the past eighteen years photographing the shows of the Festival d’Avignon, both during performances and behind the scenes. Cours, cloisters, gymnasiums, quarries, wind, heat, and rain are both setting and characters... A continuation of last year’s edition, L’œil présent continue is a new chapter in this sensory immersion into the living memory of the Festival. Over 130 new photographs will enrich and transform this new augmented journey that calls on sight, touch, and hearing, where each image acts like “a reminiscence,” a fragment snatched out of one of those suspended moments.
