Probably 130 pairs of eyes, twice that many optic nerves, one voice, some music every once in a while, a sum of gestures, some thoughtless and some carefully chosen… and all of that will only exist once, in 133 different ways.
Her studies in anthropology of the body and in aesthetics and practice of the choreographic arts, as well as her training as a dancer with Epsedance meet in Julie Compans at the crossroads of the body and of words: that of audio description for blind and visually-impaired people.
Patrick de Oliveira’s creations are a succession of careful choices, all of them leading to the elaboration of bespoke soundscapes that most often accompany bodies that like to dance.
