The young German choreographer, Sasha Waltz who was recently appointed as artistic director for dance at the prestigious Shaubühne Theatre in Berlin - along with Thomas Ostermeier as drama director - presents two of her latest ballets at the Avignon Festival. Na Zemlje (On Earth) is a tableau of relations between Germany and Russia. The meeting of two cultures in Moscow inspired this contemporary dance performance, that focuses on the relationship between Man and Nature. The German and Russian dancers also act and sing.
