This show was written by Daniel Veronese and Emilio Garcia Wehbi, and its inspiration comes from one of Hoffmann's Tales. The Sand Man provides an occasion for puppeteers and their puppets to move across the curtain that normally separates them. The platform that serves for the manipulation of the puppets is also a prop. It is a huge box full of earth and weighing 500 kilos. The puppets are dressed like bathers at the sea-side at the beginning of the century. It's a child's game, playing with sand. The performance evokes a sleepy feeling, like falling asleep, still awake, still beyond the reach of dreams, and a pleasurable time also. The story of The Sand Man is light, but unstoppable. It also recalls the political history of Argentina, in an implicit way.
