An actor who worked with directors like Pierre Meunier or Joël Pommerat, Pierre-Yves Chapalain is also a writer and a director with his company Le temps qu’il faut. His texts juxtapose everyday, prosaic situations and dark and archaic forces which act on people like they did in ancient theatre. His plays replace timeless human characteristics into contemporary settings, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. Pierre-Yves Chapalain presented Where Are the Ogres? during the 71st edition of the Festival d’Avignon.
