Nyaba Léon Ouedraogo
In Nyaba Léon Ouedraogo, photography takes an intellectual stance, approaching photojournalism. Born in Burkina Faso, he works and lives between Paris and Africa, a continent “poisoned” by a past that was colonized in the literal as well as the figurative meaning of the word. Through his lens, he shows a reality, but especially reveals its complex political issues. He was a finalist for the Pictet photography prize. He also collaborates with Sipa Press and the magazine Jeune Afrique. In 2009, his series The Hell of Copper was notably presented at the Bamako Biennale.
