Mette Ingvartsen

Since 2002, Danish dancer and choreographer Mette Ingvartsen has been working in Brussels on a body of work that includes choreographies, performances, and live installations. She explores hybrid aesthetics between dance, visual arts, language, and new technologies. Her creations, notably the series The Artificial Nature (2009-2012), examine the relationships between humans and non-humans, exploring concepts such as kinesthesia, perception, and sensation. The Life Work (2021) is an in situ project developed in the Ruhr region, focusing on migration issues with elderly people. The Dancing Public (2021) is a solo show that explores dance as a social and collective phenomenon. In 2023, Ingvartsen created Skatepark, a large-scale performance bringing together skateboarders, dancers, and local skatepark communities.
