Martine Pisani
Martine Pisani first started dancing at age 22 with the Dunes group in Marseilles, where she was born. She founded the compagnie du solitaire in 1992, with whom she has created over twenty shows such as Le grand combat (1993), sans (2000), Undated (2017), or the solo Bouillir le vide, un récital (2020). Her playful and poetic world, far from all formalism, examines the relevance of movement and of the artifices of performance. She lives near Paris with Dutch painter and performer Theo Kooijman, who has also worked as a dancer, assistant, and space designer within the company since its foundation.
