Jorge Lavelli
Jorge Lavelli is a Franco-Argentinian theatre and opera director born on 11 November 1932 in Bueno Aires (Argentina). In 1969, at the Festival d'Avignon, he created the first form of "musical theatre" with Orden by Pierre Bourgeade and Girolamo Arrigo. Founding director of the Théâtre national de la Colline in Paris from 1987 to 1996, he chose to dedicate it to the discovery and creation of twentieth-century playwrights.
