Brett Bailey
Born in 1967, Brett Bailey is a South African director, visual artist, and the artistic director of the Third World Bunfight company. He has worked throughout South Africa, but also in Zimbabwe, Uganda, Haiti, and Europe. His iconoclastic and celebrated work has taken on various artistic forms: installations, performances, plays, operas, or musical shows. Works such as Big Dada, Ipi Zombi, Orfeus, Sanctuary, or Exhibit B (performed at the Festival d'Avignon in 2013) offer a relentless exploration of the dynamics of the postcolonial world.
