The Festival d'Avignon has joined Making Waves since 2023 to offer young people from Annecy, Avignon and the Paris region the opportunity to discover the environment of the performing arts and learn radio and interviewing techniques. During a residency in April at La FabricA du Festival d'Avignon, the group receives training in radio production with the Making Waves team and learns about the history of the Festival d'Avignon with the audience relations team. I
In July, a mobile radio studio is set up at the Festival d'Avignon has part of the Café des idées at the Cloître Saint-Louis. These young people, hired and paid by Making Waves, host and produce programmes or welcome artists and thinkers from the Festival’s programme each evening. The aim is for this radio station to be a place of encounter, knowledge-sharing and diversity, so that these young people can, together, using their own words, sensibilities, questions and visions, engage in conversation with artists, creators and thinkers.
