Presentation

La machine à affranchir // Nicole Genovese

At the theatre, the word rope is taboo. Nicole Genovese challenges this superstition by bringing together actor Sébastien Chassagne and rope magician Quoc Tien Tran to ward off bad luck.

Claudia the Virgin // Zoé Lakhnati

Together, Zoé, dancer, and Claudia, athlete, turn their bodies into a laboratory for transformation. In their dance, myths and images intertwine and weave together, before giving way to the elusive.

The SACD (Société des auteurs et compositeurs dramatiques) is the oldest authors’ society in the world. Founded in 1777 by Beaumarchais, it is a non-profit civil society organisation owned by its member authors. It represents over 64,000 authors working in the performing arts, cinema, audiovisual media and digital creation. It manages and defends their rights, provides them with a wide range of services, advises and supports them, and, through the private copying levy scheme, promotes contemporary creation and the dissemination of works. The SACD, which is deeply committed to defending cultural diversity, is active in national and international bodies to protect authors and their works, and to defend their status and remuneration conditions. SACD is the Festival’s long-standing partner on the ‘Vive le sujet! Tentatives’ programmes and collaborates on an ad hoc basis with other Festival initiatives.
