What songs can we sing when those we love die? With this sensitive and almost ritualistic performance, Vanasay Khamphommala calls on Elvis Presley to prepare for her father’s passing.

Presentation

Vanasy Khamphommala tames her fear of losing her father by rehearsing “Love Me Tender”, a famous song by Elvis Presley, icon of popular musique. Born in Laos, her father asked her to perform this song at his yet-to-come funeral. The artist invites the audience to participate, all while exploring what we share and pass on while we are alive.
