Muette

With Muette, Boris Charmatz continues his solo work, like a counterpoint to his lush group pieces, to explore a space “where language doesn’t come out, where the tongue is silenced, where the mouth, open or closed, suggests chasms of emotion.” Conceived as a sort of sequel to his first solo, SOMNOLE, Muette is an invitation to follow the almost invisible motion of a stifled cry, of a body that takes and absorbs violence in silence, of a bubble of saliva that burst at the corner of the lips. The choreographer works with what remains on the fringes, what leaves one stunned and speechless. He aims to "dance within the innermost depths".
