Presentation

How do you teach the arts and creativity? Can we transmit emotion, sensitivity, intensity and passion? How can we encourage young apprentice artists to explore their own relationship with creation, and to fully integrate their own being into their artistic expression, paving the way for a living, vibrant art form capable of touching audiences? In partnership with the Collection Lambert, ARTE invites you into the intimacy of studios and schools to follow dance and theater classes and the lessons of two great masters, Pina Bausch and Peter Brook. A selection of fascinating documentaries and a surprising new series preview, accompanied by meetings with artists and teachers.

The first part of this documentary series immerses us in the day-to-day lives of 24 3rd-year students, who have put their heart and soul into realizing their dreams and their attempts to shake up a demanding institution. With the final section devoted to their final year at the Conservatoire, we continue the story of these young talents, at the foot of the springboard that may propel them into the ultra-selective professional world of dance. While the stakes are high, it's important to keep a cool head in the run-up to competitions and auditions. From their first lessons to their certificates, we follow Romane, Oscar, Elsy, Pierre and Maxime. Between the stress of auditions and the intensity of one training course after another, the pressure mounts and the young people have no right to make mistakes: the slightest fall could shatter their career dreams forever. Immersed in the world of classical and contemporary dance excellence, this series sheds light on the crucial issues surrounding tomorrow's dancers.

Screening followed by a discussion with Muriel Maffre, Director of Choreographic Studies at the CNSMD.
