Inspired by themes often tackled by Raimund Hoghe—such as the presence of the absent, remembering, love, death, and life—For the Good Times is an invitation to celebrate the time we have left together.

Presentation

Starting from his desire to create an imaginary meeting with late German choreographer Raimund Hoghe, Mohamed Toukabri invites visual artist Luca Giacomo Schulte, Hoghe’s longtime artistic collaborator, to join him onstage. Their meeting gives rise to a poetic and contemplative journey through an experience at once personal and universal, recently shared by Toukabri and Schulte: grief. The loss of a father for the former, of an artistic partner of almost 30 years for the latter. Their paths cross where they recognise each other’s pain. How to keep the memory of a loved one who left us alive? What gestures, what rituals can arise of this shared pain, forging connections between those former strangers?

Inspired by themes often tackled by Raimund Hoghe—such as the presence of the absent, remembering, love, death, and life—For the Good Times is an invitation to celebrate the time we have left together.
