Presentation

In Europe, orientalism in music has remained popular to this day, and the Arab world hasn't escaped this form of exotic stereotyping. But the wars that have devastated so many countries from the Maghreb (Algeria, Tunisia) to the Mashriq (Lybia, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, etc.) have shaken the image of a homogenous Arab world when it comes to music. Can musicians still imagine a language they would all share, an Andalusia that would be vaster than the one they dream of?
