"In 1999, Benoît Guibert's manuscript, Mourir au Tonkin landed in the hands of the reading committee. Seized by the beauty of its language and by its dramatic force, we agreed unanimously that we should hold a public reading of this work. We then discovered Benoît's acting ability – he is actually playing in Les Vainqueurs. I am happy to demonstrate my fraternal feeling to him once again by organising this reading of his most recent work, Cantus cadaveris."

This is the second year for Désirs d'Auteurs. In the cool air of the early morning, we will discover an as yet unperformed work by the same writers – Olivier Py, Pascal Rambert and Hubert Colas – who as the sun goes down, will introduce us to their "godchildren" Benoît Guibert, Jean-Paul Quéinnec and Marielle Pinsard. It's a time for imagination, the unexpected, discoveries, and that's certainly one of the objectives of Sacd.
