Operetta crashes the Festival d’Avignon with one of Jacques Offenbach’s lesser known works: Le 66 ! A Tyrolean couple goes to Strasburg to help an aunt in need. On the way, a pedlar tells Frantz that he has won the lottery thanks to the ticket in his pocket! Frantz can already picture himself living the good life, but Grittly refuses to follow him and his delusions of grandeur. Things start going awry between the lovers, and luck suddenly takes a turn for the bad… Le 66 ! combines musical inventiveness and humour, leading to a double-edged moral which young director Victoria Duhamel asks the audience to explore… by taking part in the game! Six singers and musicians lead spectators of all ages into a frenzied and always unique adventure as enjoyable as it is thought-provoking. Place your bets!
