Presentation

Speak Up is a documentary about black women born of the history of European colonisation in Africa and the West Indies. The film focuses on the experience of difference as a black woman and the stereotypes associated with those two inseparable facets of their identity, “black” and “woman.” It is a film about the intersection of different types of discrimination, but also about art, the many form life journeys can take, and the necessity of reclaiming a narrative.

Followed by a discussion with Rebecca Chaillon (a participant in the Ceccano project and protagonist of the film) and David Bobée
