Presented by Marie Labory (ARTE Journal)
With the presence of Serge Bagdassarian de la Comédie-Française
It's hard to imagine two versions of Molière's Dom Juan more different than Vincent Macaigne's film and Jean-Pierre Vincent's direction for the Comédie-Française. Yet the former is a free adaptation of the latter, using the same cast. Known for playing with great canonical texts, the young filmmaker/actor/director moves the action to our modern world and turns the play into a dark and pulpy road movie.
Serge Bagdassarian
An actor and director, Serge Bagdassarian began his career in the North of France, where he was born. He worked with Claire Dancoisne on various shows, including Shakespeare's Macbeth or A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, based on the short story by García Marquez. He learnt mask technique with Mario Gonzalez and took part in 1993 in the commedia dell'arte show Tréteaux impromptu. He joined the Comédie-Française on 18 January 2007, and became its 521st sociétaire in 2011.
