With this documentary, Malian director Souleymane Cisse remembers his childhood, his first steps as a beloved child in his family's house. Decades later, peace is but a memory. In 2008, the director's sisters are evicted from the house they've always shared, even though they are in their right. It's also his country, Mali, which he watched fall into war, in spite of a long tradition of tolerance established with the independence. The fight for truth drives the director to speak up and commit to a cause.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Rokia Traoré.
