Why write for the theatre today © DR

Presentation

Two main trends can be identified in modern theatre: on the one hand, cultural heritage, however unique it may be, continues to be used extensively, while on the other the postdramatic has risen to a position of dominance, along with “stage writing.” Both those trends tend to marginalise the playwright, who has become a minor figure. In that sense, writing for the theatre has become the real convergence line. Parages, the magazine of the TNS founded by Stanislas Nordey, opens up the space of that line.
