Photographs with Steven Paxton and Xavier Le Roy

From the "collection," at the same time classical, experimental and nomadic, that the Musée de la danse is building up, Boris Charmatz has chosen five photographs by the polymorphic artist Jean-Luc Moulène, moreover the author of the drawing illustrating the 65th edition of the Festival. His use of photography as an investigation instrument opening a "passage to the other" had him join, in 2003, two series of artistic actions carried out by the Edna association, founded by Boris Charmatz and Dimitri Chamblas: Ouvrée, artistes en alpages and Entraînements. His gaze seizes, in the performance gesture of the dancers and choreographers Steve Paxton and Xavier Le Roy, the possibility of an image of dance and the world that can bear the comparison. FB
