Presentation

So who is Gospodin? How come this dreamer finds himself with a huge pile of money after having lost everything? Both a great lord and a beggar, the anti-hero of a contemporary legend, a distant cousin of Job or Bartleby, Gospodin is caught up in the burlesque round dance of the characters of a theatre situated somewhere between Brecht and the Pythons. A brilliant fable, sprinkled with witty lines on our little arrangements with the consumer society.

Philipp Löhle was born in 1978 in Ravensburg, Germany. After having studied history, literature and theatre, he wrote several plays that received a great deal of attention, like Kauf-Land (2005) and won prizes in Berlin and Heidelberg. He shoots short films and documentaries and works for the press. Since 2009, he has been the associate author at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin.
