Christiane Jatahy

Christiane Jatahy, with her distinctive theatrical and cinematic language, is a major figure in the international arts scene. Between Brazil and Europe, she has been exploring for over thirty years the relationship to the Other, the zones where reality and fiction meet, the borders between theatre and cinema. A recipient of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, among other awards, she is acclaimed as a clear-sighted observer of the violence of our contemporary world. The diptych Our Odyssey began in 2018 with Ithaca.  Le Présent qui déborde - Notre Odyssée II in 2018 was her first creation at the Festival d'Avignon.
