Anne-Cécile Vandalem
Anne-Cécile Vandalem was born in Liège in 1979. After graduating from the Royal Conservatory, she became an actress, writer, and director, and founded in 2008 Das Fräulein [Kompanie]. In her creations, such as Habit(u)ation or After the Walls (Utopia), she mixes genres and media. Her tragicomic world, reminiscent of cinema, features personal dramas, dreamlike stories, and political fictions. After Sadnesses and Arctic, both acclaimed at the Festival d’Avignon in 2016 and 2018, Kingdom concludes a cycle about the failures of humanity.
