Do artists in France and across Europe have enough protection from political interference? Is it still possible to make work that shocks, thrills and excites, as public funding is slashed and governments implement a ‘politics of taste’?
This edition of the European Theatre Talks, titled ‘Democracy, Freedom and New Voices’, will take place from 10:00 – 12:00 CET on 09 July in the Salle Colloque. The high-profile artists and policy makers will discuss the global campaign for Artistic Freedom, RESISTANCE NOW TOGETHER. The speakers will also reflect on how to support new voices, through presentation of the Prospero New European Wave platform, and launch the new Fabulamundi - New Voices casebooks on diversifying theatre, published by ETC.
