In a world haunted by wars, crises, and violence, the literatures of the world —and theatre in particular— cannot remain silent. Since 2013, Ça va, ça va le monde ! has given voice to French-language dramatic writings from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Arab world. Through RFI’s cycle of readings, these texts, deeply rooted in the social and political realities of their regions, find a space for resonance and sharing.

by Liwaa Yazji - Syria
A play written in 2017, as the toll of the war in Syria grows heavier. Faced with the grief of mourning families, the local party official decides to compensate them by offering a goat for each child killed in combat. But one father refuses to accept it and stands up to uncover the truth about his son’s death.
A political tragicomedy about manipulation and the violence of dictatorship.
