A revival of Sophocles' Philoctetes, where all the heroic figures have perished, all the gods have deserted the world, and yet the survivors, left to their own devices, find the strength to continue.

Presentation

On an island ravaged by an ancient armed conflict, where the choir lives in makeshift tents, two conquerors driven by a prophecy set foot: General Odysseus, whose many tricks have earned him a reputation through twelve years of incessant warfare, and young Neoptolemos, son of Achilles, whose armour Odysseus stole and uses as a pawn. Their mission: to find Philoctetes, abandoned years before by the same Odysseus, in order to bring him back home and turn the tide of the war.

A revival of Sophocles' Philoctetes where, all the heroic figures having perished, all the gods having deserted the world, the survivors, left to their own devices, nevertheless find the strength to continue

Unpublished play in French language. To be published in autumn 2023 by L'Arche éditeur.
