2nd reading: Des nouvelles de l’invisible

Sur la piste animale is published by Actes Sud

Clara Hédouin sets off on Baptiste Morizot's Sur la piste animale and goes on an expedition to unexplored lands: our relationship with living beings and our inner animalities.

A set of tracks. A track in the clay soil of a river. And yet it's all there: the joy of wolves who find each other, the patience of a panther on the lookout, the intelligence of a bear that erases its own tracks, and our own desire to search. Clara Hédouin sets off on Baptiste Morizot's animal trail and goes on an expedition to unexplored lands: our relationship with living beings and our inner animalities.

Clara Hédouin joined the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon in 2008, where she directed her first plays. She then trained as an actress at the Studio-Théâtre d'Asnières, then at the École du Jeu. For eight years, she created and toured throughout France with the Collectif 49701 a series of six shows, based on the adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers, outside the theatre. She continues her approach with Que ma Joie demeure by combining her love for literature, her sense of the epic, and her desire to invent another encounter between the spectator and the theatre, outside the black box.

Baptiste Morizot is a writer and lecturer in philosophy at the University of Aix-Marseille. His work on the relationship between humans and the living world is based on fieldwork, particularly tracking wildlife. He is the author of Les Diplomates. Cohabiter avec les loups sur une autre carte du vivant (2016) and, published by Actes Sud in the "Mondes sauvages" collection, Sur la piste animale (2018) and Manières d'être vivant (2020).
