Since 2015, Caroline Guiela Nguyen has been working with actors detained in the central prison in Arles. The writer and director has imagined a fantastic tale for them. Neither a documentary nor a prison story, Les Engloutis is a powerful fiction that places us in the near future. After a wave has engulfed half of humanity, waiting places are invented to maintain the link with people who have disappeared. Over the years, these places are filled with grief and hope. This screening will be followed by the first episodes of a web-documentary series, filmed between January and June 2021, during the rehearsals of the play FRATERNITY, a fantastic tale.
