When it comes to inequalities between women and men, the world of art and culture is sadly no exception. Whether in the fields of visual arts, of performing arts, or of cinema and television, women see their work, their creations, their performances, their roles as heads of great cultural institutions systematically underestimated, with a few very rare exceptions. Can the world of culture play an active role in the emancipation of humanity while reproducing discriminations between women and men?
