“ONE IS NEVER DONE READING, EVEN IF BOOKS END, JUST LIKE ONE IS NEVER DONE LIVING.” ROBERTO BOLAÑO

After Les Particules élémentaires (Atomised), created for the 67th edition of the Festival d'Avignon, Julien Gosselin and the Si vous pouviez lécher mon coeur collective embark on a new literary adventure, an attempt to adapt a novel that spans multiple eras. For this project, they picked a massive work, Roberto Bolaño's 2666, which brings together a number of strange characters: academics looking for a mysterious German writer, a professor who thinks he's Marcel Duchamp, Mexican cops struggling to solve countless murders... From what seems at first to be separate stories, Julien Gosselin creates a total experience, a journey for both his actors and their audience. A future epic...

JULIEN GOSSELIN

A fearless young director, Julien Gosselin likes to use every means and tool at his disposal to put the world at the centre of his theatre. Upon graduating from the École professionnelle supérieure d'art dramatique of Lille, he founds, with six actors, the Si vous pouviez lécher mon coeur collective. His unique direction style allows actors onstage to be successively musicians, performers, narrators, or characters. A lover of contemporary literature, he adapted Michel Houellebecq's Atomised; following its critical and popular success, he has now chosen to tackle Roberto Bolaño's posthumous novel.
