Since 2008, the Festival d'Avignon and the Institut Supérieur des Techniques du Spectacle have been collaborating to present to the public the end-of-the-year projects of the major training institutions in the performing arts.
In 2011, the ENSATT is celebrating its 70th anniversary. A school-theatre located in Lyons, it turned over the last of its three workshop-shows of the year to two major personalities of the theatre scene: Evelyne Didi and Matthias Langhoff. Their project consists of a dual creation, both French and Afghan, based on the figure of Oedipus and performed in a single evening. This is how the students of the 70th class, from all disciplines, have conceived and will play Œdipe and Neige, and that the artists of the Théâtre Aftaab - trained in Kabul by Ariane Mnouchkine and welcomed for a year as students at the ENSATT - will replay Œdipe in their own language, a mirror held out to the French version.
