Presentation

The Musée de la danse is exhibiting Jérôme Bel: a proposal in the form of a reader's digest, for a choreography seeking to define "what remains" of dance, once it is reduced to its essence. A tireless explorer of what motivates the making of choreography, Jérôme Bel has been proposing, for the last 20 years and since his founding reading of Barthes, a reduction to the "zero degree" of dance. If he questions mass entertainment, revisits Raymond Roussel to give the dancers hiccups or looks into the destiny of a ballerina, it is also to better frustrate the spectators' expectations. A portrait of a work under deconstruction by an iconoclastic artist, through photos, texts, a video extract, a documentary film and interviews from his Catalogue raisonné. FB

Wanted...
With the view of preparing his show for the Cour d'honneur of the Palais des papes in 2013, Jérôme Bel would like to meet spectators who have attended one or more shows in this venue since the creation of the Festival. He will receive them at the École d'Art, without an appointment, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday 11 July to Friday 22 July, except Saturday and Sunday.
